Lunch @ Saveur + More

Waddup? Yes yes, this is going to be a decent post with pictures of food. Relax.

Been busy with the launch of the online magazine: FLARE!!!

I'm hoping all the readers are enjoying the articles so far. If you haven't check the site out, please do so!

So anyway, *J and I went for lunch at Saveur last week and it was our first time there. I've been reading reviews about it and seeing plates of duck confit appear on my instagram so I told myself I have to try it. And of course, God is good. I think he knows that I'm a direction-idiot and probably wouldn't know where Purvis street is... Because there's a new Saveur outlet just outside Far East Plaza!!!

If I'm not wrong, the owner's a Christian. The site and the shop have a verse from the bible (:

 *As you can see, J's a changed man. He now calls himself Jay, combs his hair up and dresses likeaboss. It's pretty evident that everyone changes, and only on rare occasions like this that change is good. HAHAHAHAHAHA ok sorry back to the food!!!

The entire lunch was fantastic. Ok? I'm not very good with words so you'll have to try it yourself. 

The quality of the food is worth the price, I'd say. Like Saizeriya. It's another place that I'm willing to travel for food.

 SAVEUR'S PASTA

(A signature of Saveur's, pasta tossed with chilli oil, fine-chopped Japanese konbu 
& sakura ebi with minced pork sauce)

I love the texture of the angel hair pasta and the combination of the oil and ebi!

 FOIE GRAS

(Pan-seared duck liver served with creamy lentils & pickled pearl onion)

I don't think I've ever tried legit stuffed duck liver before so I didn't know what to expect.

But my oh my was it a good choice choosing this dish because both of us LOVED it. It's soft, but not mushy-gross-soft. It melts in your mouth. Eat it with the lentils, YUM.

 DUCK CONFIT

(Duck leg confit, homemade mashed potato, sauteed shitake mushroom,
orange segments & prange infused natural jus)

Everything about this dish is just... *tears of joy stream down my face*

 CHICKEN ROLL

(A roulade of chicken thigh stuffed with foie gras-infused chicken farce,
creamy basmati rice & parmesan sauce)

Even though I'm not a fan of this dish, I'd eat it for the rice. The cream sauce makes it taste soooo good. The chicken roll is fine but I guess I just didn't like what's stuffed inside it.

Headed over to Ion for some ice cream and tried the gelato at the basement!

Not bad at all. It comes 3rd placing after Cold Stone and B&J.

Met Cora last week for dinner and to visit her cute little dog, Coco.

We cooked phad thai!!! I bought the set from BKK last year so I've decided to put it to good use.

Went to get some bean sprouts and prawns and we were good to go!

 Played with Coco the super friendly and cuddly dog that enjoys licking people :')

FLARE'S Fresh photoshoot took place last Sunday too.

Which explains the pink and white dasies❀❀❀❀

 We then headed to Baha Fresh for sort of like a celebratory dinner after that :)

MEXICAN FOOD AND I WERE REUNITED AGAIN THAT NIGHT.

I went to sleep hating on my stomach but feeling satisfied.

 ^ My freaking huge burrito enchilados style + nachos for sides

Each meal comes with a cuppa nachos and you get to choose from a range of salsa dips at the bar counter. Freaking awesome? I think so. I was really really full though. Cause the burrito looks bigger IRL. It's stuffed with chicken, tomatoes, vege, and RICE. Topped with chili sauce and cheese. 

I miss it already... I hate myself for blogging about food at night. Thanks Elsa for the recommendation!

Staying over at Grandma's tonight and I'll probably watch one or two episodes of Hey Arnold! before heading to bed. Hey Arnold!'s one of my favourite cartoons from Nickelodeon when I was younger. Downloaded all 5 seasons of it :p I like staying at Gran's cause something about it just calms me.
