KYUSHU 2013 (PART 2)
Part 2 with twice the amount of pictures whoo!!!
:) :) :)
DAY 2
Splendid breakfast at HOTEL MONTEREY @ NAGASAKI, KYUSHU. Old school hotel. Not sure if it's American or European themed but nonetheless, vintage and pretty.
I love Japanese croissants. I don't know if croissants all taste the same but so far all I've tasted in Jap taste so buttery and even better when toasted ^_^ Not sure if I'm the only one but I like pronouncing croissants as CROY SANTS hahaha.
GLOVER GARDEN
+ Oura Catholic Church
Wish I will be as rich as Glover someday. Would definitely have a little cottage full of pretty flowers and a gardener to groom the plants for me.
* PAUSE *
Just introducing 2 STRESSED (inspired by rapper 2 Chainz).
* MOVING ON *
One of the ways to keep myself warm temporarily was to get a hot drink from a vending machine and hold it close to my face. + T'was a really nice lemoney drink!!!
I met my friend, fat kitty, near the exit of Glover's Garden!!!! ^_^
He/she was just chilling, not giving a care about the world, and me.
Cats in SG will either scowl or run away from you but this doesn't. It's fate I tell ya.
Oura Catholic Church, beautiful isn't it?
Didn't get the chance to go in as it wasn't in our itinerary.
ATOMIC BOMB MUSEUM
If you remember studying History in secondary school... There were 2 bombs planted/dropped in Japan. One in Hiroshima, another in Nagasaki. And lucky us, we got to visit the museum and site in Nagasaki. It was an interesting experience to be there, on the spot, so near to whatever happened many years ago (I'm not good with dates).
The part where the blue light is shining, that's where the bomb landed.
FAT MAN - a remake figure of how the bomb looked like.
*IT IS NOT REAL*
Saw a lot of the remnants that were collected after the incident and read the testimonies and recollections of the survivors. Heartbreaking.
A massive sculpture near the museum. Uhm... *panics cuz I forgot what I learnt from art history*
Ok if I did not recall wrongly from what the tour guide said.. The finger pointing up was where the bomb landed, and the hand gestured out was for peace.
A fountain built to commemorate the victims who died of thirst during the aftermath of the bomb.
AND BAM! Here's an angsty shot of my cousin : )
Champon (fat ramen) lunch near the museum!!!
I don't know. Y'know in SG when we say near it would be around 5 to 10 minutes away.
But in Japan I think it's more than 15 mins.
VOLCANO SITE
On that very day we visited a site that was greatly affected by an active volcano.
Houses were submerged and what remained were the roofs.

Lots of rubbles too.
And of course, everywhere I went, every stop I stop for the toilet, I have to visit the souvenir/convenience store. Either just to have a look-see, get a drink, have an ice-cream or get some snacks back to SG to nom on.
Love this green tea waffle ice-cream!!! Big fan of waffle ice-creams. So much cheaper in Japan.
Costed about 1 or 2 bucks there, but if you see this in SGP it costs around 4 or 5?
Do you remember me talking about the difficulties I had relieving my bowel system in my Taiwan post? Yeah... It sorta happened in Japan again and I had to find all the drinks that had vitamin C and spam veggies and fruits during buffets. I know they have this drink in SG too... But c'mon, it's JAPAN. Hahaha.
OBAMA HOT SPRING
The smell of the sulphur smoke stinks. Like rotten eggs.
If I'm not wrong the above stone thingy is for cooking eggs and sweet potatoes. You can cook it and peel it and eat em' on the spot!
What I enjoyed most was getting my legs and feet soaked in the hot spring!!! So hot but I loved it.
Something about pain.... *pauses morbid thoughts*

Behind us was this beautiful view. The vast ocean and the rays of sunlight.
That wasn't the only time I got to see that picturesque view. So lucky :')
So like... My mom took this picture ^ and what was shown on the camera was just a silhouette of us so I had to edit it. Hahaha.
HAHAHAHA looks like Obama be lovin' some onsen too ;)
Don't you think it'd be totally awesome if Obama visited this spot? Hahaha a girl can dream.
Our tatami room that night.
One thing I love about the Japanese is their hospitality. Uhm... Complimentary snacks on the table at every hotel? Hello? I'm sold. PLUS the red bean pancake under the beautiful packaging tasted amazeballs.
My cool Grandma makin' the both of us some Ocha (tea).
THIS IS WHY I LOVE DINNER. LOVE WAS IN THE AIR EVERY NIGHT IN JAPAN.
Super soft sticky rice with little shrimps. Yes please.
Super yummy fried whatever fish that is, yes please.
What was left after this was just its bones, fragmented. I never give chance.
Camped at the lobby for WIFI with the family and a few of the other tour members before retiring for the night :)
***
Hope you enjoyed part 2 as much as I did!!! I sure miss Japan a whole lot already.
Part 3 comin' right up.
Gotta finish writing my Christmas cards, drop em' off by noon and then yay,
